Gail Silva, Psy.D.
District Educational Specialist
The newest member to join our Compassionate Koʻolaupoko leadership team, Gail Silva, Psy.D. is a Clinical Psychologist who has always lived in our Koʻolaupoko community. She currently works for the Windward District of the Hawaii Department of Education and is also in private practice on Oʻahu. She attended the University of Hawaiʻi and Chaminade University before earning her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Hawaii School of Professional Psychology where she focused her studies on trauma, including the impact of cultural trauma on our Native Hawaiian families. She served in the Nanakuli school complex for several years before taking a break and eventually moving over to the Windward District in 2018. As a clinical psychologist for the DOE, she has provided psychological assessments to students and contributes trauma-informed consultation and training to school teams. In her private practice, Dr. Silva works primarily with women and children with histories of trauma, anxiety and depression. During her spare time, she enjoys spending time in nature and with her family that includes two grown daughters and two precious granddaughters.
